Here is a nice alignment with the post and the mast. . Note the fenders are tied to the gunnel so they roll up and down with the tide.
Here Aquavit is tied to the East pilings. There was no room to paint as it jammed the dock railing, and the outgoing tide pushed the keel 4 inches west just as it grounded, causing a slight lean to the east.
